Good review about some very interesting topics! As a reviewer myself, I have read books that with just a little more work could move up from a 3 star to a 4. A good reviewer will point out the flaws but will encourage the writer. You did your job well, Kappy!

I'm glad you found the review to be helpful. I think you'll like the book.

Intriguing format Mr King has chosen - snatches of fiction to parse his views on life and death.
He asks why God allows so many sinners to enjoy life while so many saints undergo suffering. Maybe there's something to be said for the Hindu view of the cycle of birth and re-birth. I'm not talking of reincarnation but the transmigration of a soul from one corporeal form to another until it attains "moksha" or liberation.
So if you look at one life as the start and finish of existence, then Mr King's question needs an answer here and now. If you look at the cycle, then the possibility exists of one life being but one step in a long journey. A journey of twists and turns, of discoveries and moral adventures and misadventures.
Disclaimer: I'm a born but not practicing Hindu.
