Nice, insightful review! I like that you mentioned the impact of the girl's mental illness on the whole family and the way mental illness was viewed as a taboo subject to be talked about in the 1970's.

Fantastic review. I got a good sense of the novel and the heartbreaking story it tells. Details about the financial hardships and the mental illness stigma of the time period are great suggestions.
