Great review! Sounds like an interesting read. I have worked with students this age as well and respect and communication are key! I have two young boys, so this is something worth reading for when they get to that stage of their life.

I had no idea books like this made it to the market, but it doesn't sound that bad actually. It's definitely aimed at a young audience, judging by the premise, but such a shame that it's not well edited. Thank you for the review.

I haven't finished it yet but felt the need to do a "Mini"review, as well as to to let Shellee know that I appreciated her review. I began by searching books for how to interact with my 13 year old Grandson. I've been his caregiver since he was born. His Mother, my child, has a demanding job that takes her out of town frequently. I ate, slept and breathed this glorious little boy. Imagine my surprise when, all of a sudden he emerged from his room, a sullen, oblivious TEENAGER!
That's when This book caught my eye. I wanted more than to know appropriate forms of discipline. I wanted to build a relationship with him. He is my heart, as are his younger brothers.
The book didn't reveal anything I didn't know, but it was forthright and easy to apply to different relationships in our lives, not just our pubescent 13 year olds!

Todd Corabi's "Seven Essential Things Needed for Relationships to Succeed" is a non-fiction guide for teenagers, parents, and educators on healthy relationships. It covers topics like trust, honesty, respect, communication, friendship, loyalty, and love. the book lacks polish in editing and can be easily adapted to meet core curriculum standards.
