"Odyssey of High Hopes" by Cyrus A. Ansary is the memoir of Cyrus's journey to complete his dream to go to America. His adventure tells each step of the way from Iran to America and all the struggles. A teenage dream full of hopes and was it really what he thought it would be. Sounds like a interesting journey and BOTD.

"Odyssey of High Hopes" by Cyrus A. Ansary captures the awakening of dreams, the ambition, the pursuit, the obtacles and the realization of dreams. Cyrus journey from homeland Tehran to his dream country, America was not what he thought it to be in reality.
The story sounds great, and I'd love to know more how Cyrus scaled through.

Just by reading the first page, I could already feel a connection to this book. I've always dreamed of going to another country to make a living, but I was afraid — will going there really help me improve my life, or will it make things worse? This book is so relatable and truly interesting.

Congrats on BOTD!
Cyrus A. Ansary's memoir, "Odyssey of High Hopes," chronicles his bravery, imprisonment, and aspirations from Tehran to the United States. He struggles with communication obstacles, adjustment, and skepticism after leaving Iran as a teenager, yet he succeeds.

Although green the grass might not be as green as one thinks on the other side. Cyrus' journey from his homeland, Tehran, to America is very relatable. I sampled a few pages, and honestly, I would like to read the book. Thank you for the review.

Thanks for the detailed review. I liked how you pointed out the mix of personal story, history, and culture, especially learning about places like Tehran and Shiraz. It's also helpful that you mentioned the photos and how the timeline was easy to follow despite not being linear. Sounds like a well-written and inspiring memoir.

Memoirs aren’t usually my cup of tea, but this book sounds truly inspiring. It’s commendable that such a young boy showed so much willpower and determination to achieve something significant in his life. The author shares his life story and the experiences that shaped him into the person he is today. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

From the introduction of the book, we are already aware of the author's goal. For a story that spans over decades, it is interactive and entertaining. I got a good introduction to the author's homeland. As a child, they moved around a bit before they settled in Tehran. It was interesting reading about the culture of a country I knew little about. I also learned a bit more about Abadeh, Shiraz, and Ahvaz. The events in his family shaped and modeled him. Curious about his father's life, he held him in high regard and came to find his teachings valuable in his life.
I love history and learning about different cultures. At first, I thought this was another story about the American dream. There's nothing wrong with that, but I liked that the protagonist used what he had achieved to help his native nation. Thank you for your review!

Cyrus appears to have lived an eventful life, which makes his journey all the more fascinating.

Beyond his life story, I'm glad the book contains writings on historical events of the period, and his relationships with his loved ones are detailed as well.

I'm most curious to learn his view of America and how it changed over time.

This certainly sounds like a compelling read. The review stated that the author's journey is full of adventures and to be honest, from the summary, I am now curious to know what actually happened with Cyrus in the USA that changed his perspective about his dream country. Great premise.
