This book would be helpful for people who have been through this same horrific experience of rape or who have loved ones who have. It is good that the author was able to marry and be healed from this trauma.

Thanks for the thorough review. Even though I do realize that rape is a very important subject, I'm just not interesting in reading this book. I am glad to know, though, that details about the actual rape are left out; I imagine that would have been way too much for other people who have been through it.

Writing about rape is extremely hard to do. Especially so when it's a personal experience. I applaud this author for putting her story out their and for telling others there can be life after trauma.

The memoir of a rape survivor sounds heart-rending. I salute to the author for overcoming and triumphing it. Too bad the last chapters spoiled the story, but at least it was well edited. Thank you for the review!

The book highlighted trauma, recovery, strength, family, and empowerment. The reviewer detailed the positiveaspects of the book, and justified his rating. I learned a lot from reading this book. The book is temporarily free on Amazon Kindle. This was an amazing OnlineBookClub review.

My hope for this book is that it may help rape victims as well as those closest to them towards healing and recovery. Good point also on prevention and protecting oneself against this kind of violence.

This is an important and sensitive topic. The way the author includes recollections of events from family and friends sounds like an interesting format.

Up until this point I've only read one book about rape, "Lucky" by Alice Sebold. It was a very difficult book to read, both because of the theme and the way it was written, but from this review I figured that I would probably enjoy "Voices of Hope" much more. You described the book in such an amazing manner that I'll definitely read it. It would be quite painful to read a real story of something so terrible happening to the real person, but I think it's that type of pain you need to live, to carry on, to deal with your problems better... I'm starting to mumble because I'm very sensitive about this topic, so let me just say thank you for the review. Now I know what I'll be reading next.

This memoir about a college girl being a victim of rape sounds inspiring and heartbreaking. It breaks my heart that this book had to be written, no one should go through this, but I am so glad she is speaking her truth and maybe it could help someone else. This book also shows how this affected her family and friends. Congrats on the book of the day! Great review.

Wow. I'm so glad that the author was able to move past the rape and even help others that ended up in her situation. I'm so sorry she went through what she did, but I'm interested in learning how this affected not only her but her family and friends. Thanks for introducing this one to us.

This is an inspiring and helpful memoir for any victim of rape. I still don't know why there are rapists out there; I wonder what they gain from unconsensual sex. I am glad the author found joy in the, and is living a better life advocating for other rape victims. Thanks for the review.
Feeling upset sometimes may be unavoidable, but acting distressed is always optional.

The 'Voices of Hope' by Kristine Irwin inspires hope for those who have experienced sexual assault in their lives, simply because she is brave enough to narrate her story and also add voices of the effect it had on her family and friends. The book can also help victims regain their self-esteem just in the similar way she did.

Definitely admiring for the author to be able to share her story. Being able to move on must have been difficult, but seems that she has succeeded in doing so and now able to help other victims. This book sound like one that needs to be read and shared. Thanks for the great review!
