Sounds interesting, I have not heard of this pilgrimage before now. I'm going to look into it and the book more further. Thank you for the review.
Anyone who says they have only one life to live must not know how to read a book.

Yes, the Camino is worth exploring! Thank you for dropping by.

This reminds me of Cheryl Strayed and the PCT (I hope I got those details right). These types of journeys surely can be awakening. Great review!

Interesting, but sounds like a pretty "selfish" book. If she did it for the experience, I feel she cheated herself with the hotels and basically avoiding people. I think I would be more annoyed with her than cheering for her so I think I will pass. Thanks for the review!

Full disclosure, I was pretty bothered by this aspect. I wanted to give the author the benefit of the doubt, as I'm sure what she did challenged her. But I have read quite a bit about the Camino pilgrimage and she really did seem to cheat herself out of the full experience. The point is really to push beyond your normal capacity. It's hard, no doubt, but that's the point. And, staying at the community hostels and meeting new friends is an important experience that she missed. Thanks for dropping by.
