Before going through the review, judging by the title I thought maybe Eggstravagant Easter Eggs by Maya Elston is some kind of book teaching us different ways of cooking eggs, a recipes book sort of but lo! That wasn't it. I'm amazed by the author's art of decorating eggs and I guess I will give it a shot too. Congratulations to the author on the BOTD. Great review.
Books are beautiful.

I am not much of an egg-painting person, yet this review makes me want to try it out. I do have to say that the book sounds good enough to stand alone on the pictures of the author's egg paintings. It was a great review.

This review does justice to this amazing book that teaches how to do something that I will never do. At least not at half that level of expertise.
Besides the topic itself, dealt with the focus and dedication of a Ph.D. thesis, the clarity, and completeness of the instructions are duly noticed and appreciated.
Art for art's sake I should say.
Thank you!

I have always been mesmerized by the beauty of Fabergé eggs. I think this is a fantastic book for people who are into DIY and would like to create decorative eggs. Thanks to the author for inspiring this form of art and showing how to achieve it.

I'm sure those skilled in creating artistic Easter eggs would find this guide full of interesting ideas, designs, and techniques. The book provides a wide choice for their personal collection. As far as I am concerned, I'm rather clumsy, so I prefer admiring and buying them. Thanks for a great review!

I wish I were a more artistic person but I'm not. However, I can appreciate beauty. Eggstravagant Easters Eggs (love the title) is the kind of book that I would like to read and look at, unfortunately I don't think that I'd be able to do any of the things in there.

Not a very appealing book to me. Arts and crafts are not my cup of tea. And for the notice, though it is said it is free today, it is not so. Anyway, congratulations on being BOTD

As someone who has shared step-by-step tutorials for various home decor projects, I am familiar with the fact that giving verbal instructions is often easier than penning them in writing. However, Elston does a skillful job of thoroughly providing clear and concise steps for her designs. She also cautions readers regarding projects that are more difficult or time-consuming. I particularly appreciated a few of her tips I haven't previously noted in the do-it-yourself community, including adding rice to empty eggs for weight and using painter's tape not only for marking but as part of geometrical designs.
You make a very interesting point. I hadn't thought about it but, regarding arts and crafts, it can be very different to try to explain things through the written word. I guess illustrations come in handy in this case.
I consider myself creative too and this seems like an inspiring book. Thanks!

I usually just paint the eggs with a brush, but I could use a few new ideas. I may give this one a look. Thanks for the review, Cecilia. :techie-studyingbrown:

i simply adore eggs and I could not imagine life without it on my table at breakfast everyday. But to hear a book about many ways to use it as a decoration is mighty creative and interesting. I am looking forward in digging into this book and learn and be amazed! Congrats!

I like do it yourself type books. This one seems like my older children would enjoy doing some of the ideas especially with the painting of the eggs.
This #BOTD is going on my project list.
