Was surprised about the author starting meditation at such an early age. Also, having to practice some of the things the book is teaching makes your review quite a bit valid. Thanks for the review!

This book contains a topic which is spoken more and more today. But I could never meditate cause I'm distracted easily. But the ones who are interested in the genre should read the book. Thank you for a great review.

I have always wanted to get into more spiritual practices like meditation, and given my issues with stress levels and other emotional issues, meditation could help me get those under control. Since I'm not religious at all, I'm glad that this book does not focus on that aspect of spirituality, more focusing on the self--something I think could really help me get my life back on track. Thank you for the helpful review.

Spirituality is everything. It is kind of hard to separate from character.

I read the Amazon preview of this book and have little interest in reading it, even though I believe there may be some helpful information in it.
The author may have seemed humble enough, however from what I gathered he has categorized the general human spiritual view as all one and the same, and that he is the enlightened one. I am not a stupid person, reaching for some unknown, which is what the book implies. I don't think he has a clue as to what a true Christian belief system is; otherwise, can he truthfully say we humans are going to our worship centers reaching out to these unknown beings? While this may be the case for some it does not include many of us.
The Bible teaches to "Walk in the Spirit" and that means a daily life of meditation, prayer and praise to God our Father, His Son Jesus, and His Holy Spirit. Our Spirit is to be "one" with His. When we truly practice this there is complete peace in our chaotic and sometimes fearful world. When we fail to meditate on Him or get too busy, we allow the problems and stress in our lives to overwhelm us.
I for one, am glad to know that I do have a real Spirit Being to fix my sight and hopes on. I do not have depend on myself to do life alone. The only way to meditative peace for me is through the One who is and always was, my Creator and my God. All the other "ways" including those empty meditative processes would only leave me feeling more unfulfilled and useless.

You have mischaracterized this author and his message. Contempt prior to investigation. This author has devoted his life to seeking and practicing what he believes to be principles of love, spirit, or the divine. How dare he? He does not claim to be the enlightened one. That is reserved for those not nearly as sure of their path as he is. Jesus talked freely and with tolerance to those with different beliefs and never judged them, condemned them, called them empty or invalid. Maybe revisiting those parts of your bible would be helpful. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I’m not much into meditation but I bet it would help my anxiety. I prefer a more religious form of meditation through prayer so I probably won’t be reading this.

Yes, I do 100% agree. The book highlights the need of the spirituality in our society. The author does a great job by developing and examing this subject matter. The writer's style is something else I have greatly appreciated. In overall, a great read. I also do recommend it to a potential reader!

I like what the author says, "if you want to understand spirituality in tangible action, look to everyday courageous acts in human life". I like how he pinpoints that spirituality is not about the temple, church, mosque, or synagogue but about human life. Such a philosophical idea and I love this kind of book. Thanks for your wonderful review!

Howdy! After reading the review, it seems like "Spirituality for Real: Beyond the Incense and Meditation" by WakunDaMa would be a worthwhile read. The reviewer commended the author for demystifying spirituality and presenting practical perspectives on the subject. The book explores the connection between body, mind, spirit, and energy in an accessible manner. Additionally, the authors empathetic and humble tone received praise. It appears to be a well-organized and professionally edited book. Overall, if you're interested in a balanced and down-to-earth exploration of spirituality, this book might be right up your alley! Dynamic characters, each with their own compelling arc.
