I have read very little on the Vietnam War as it's just not an era I've been interested in, but I may give this one a try. It would be fascinating to read of this author's experiences in the war and how it affected him. Thanks for the informative review.

I have never read an account of the Vietnam war by a black serviceman. This certainly sounds interesting. Portraying the Vietnamese as rounded individuals and also not getting mired in the mud and blood of the conflict, appeals to me. The book may be a short read but definitely worth giving it a chance. Thank you for your thorough review.

I like the fact that the author provides a different perspective on the Vietnam War. I also like the fact that each chapter covers a different aspect of the author’s experience as well as illustrations that present an account that is more about social history rather than focusing on the brutality of war.

A book based upon real life experiences and revolving around military wars indeed sounds interesting. I really liked the review being short and crisp without undermining the essence of this novel. Thanks for the review.

A book on the Vietnam war which does not dwell too much on the number of victims and the damage caused, it seems very interesting. The Vietnam war It's a historical subject that I like, I think I will learn more on that war thank to this book. Thank you for this Very nice review!

I've read several books about Vietnam; for some reason, that particular war fascinates me. None of them were written by black servicemen as far as I can remember. Seeing an alternate perspective might be interesting. I'm putting this one on my (ever-growing) TBR list. Thanks for the informative review!

The war in Vietnam was strongly reported in books. However, this book present a perspective from a black soldier. I'll love to read this book. Thanks for the review.

This is a short book with long experiences. I have read a couple of stories from people who experienced Vietnam in one way or the other. There have been diverse opinions. However, I'm interested in reading Billy Springer's full experiences in Vietnam.

This is a memoir worth reading. Exposing how black soldiers are treated in war is intriguing. I never thought there could be segregation of troops in the same army. You're review was very informative.

Billy Springer has shared his memories of the Vietnam War through this book. The author has shared about how black people were treated and even perceived by the Vietnamese people. I would like to read this book. Congratulations on BOTD!

Great review! I love that this book isn't lengthy. I've never read a black soldiers perspective of the Vietnam war. I am looking forward to reading this book soon. I hope the errors mentioned will be rectified in future editions.

By the cover of the book,I thought it would have a humourous touch to its story. But the book is completely different; albeit in a good way. I would like to know more about the social historical account of the Vietnam war. Congrats on BOTD!

Even though I have enjoyed works like The Things They Carried, the Vietnam War isn’t the conflict or time period I prefer to read about. However, the aspects that this book highlights from the author’s experiences in the war sound very educational and are so different from anything I’ve ever experienced regarding the conflict that I can see myself liking it more than Tim O’Brien’s stories. Thank you for the helpful review.
