I am not too keen on memoirs, especially those laced with death and grief. Your review has sufficiently provided enough to deter me from exploring this story. As a woman and mother this book may evoke too many unwanted emotions so I'll be passing on this one. To those who will find joy in it's pages, do enjoy. To the author; I pray that ingraining their stories in time through this memoir has brought some peace. May all who mourn find comfort and all those who are living with cancer be encouraged. Thank you to the BoTD for your selection.

The sample was heartbreaking and so is your review. However, your review adds the bright side that makes the difference for a reader. I think for so many of us, we can only do so much sad. Yet, some of us understand that we cannot ignore the things of this life either. Soundsike the author did a good job of evening things out.

Thanks for yoyr insightful review!

This is an endearing tale of the author's way of dealing with loss by going through special memories and documenting them for his granddaughter Abigail. This one seems like a tear-jerker, but I hope to find some levity and life lessons within the pain. Congratulations to the author for having the BOTD.

What a sad story, losing both wife and daughter to the same disease could be unbearable.
Very sad for Abigail, hoping She escape the disease.
Good review.

This book indeed seems to contain a tragic and sad story. The author lost his wife and his daughter to ovarian cancer and he decided to write a book about his daughter and family to Abigail, his grandaughter, but he also talks about grief, love, and religion. Congrats on BOTD to the author! Thanks for the review!

‘Would it have spoilt some great eternal plan to have let them live, God?’ This is a question that I am sure many wonder at in various circumstances. Dear Abigail sounds relatable. It is a sweet and sad book but beautiful as I am glad that the grandfather does not let the little girl live without knowledge of her mother and her relatives. Beautiful review.

I am lost for words on this one. This book has an element of grirg yet there is humor between the tears. I liked how the author has perfectly used his personal sorrow to explore his relationship with God. Thrilling memoir I must say!

When I read the Dear Abigail review I read it with a heart pain. I was in a thought to some misfits we can’t stop, but we have to face them. When I got to know that this is the true story of Author my heart pain was even worst. Great review. I’m waiting to read this book.

This sounds like a sad and sweet book. I can’t imagine losing two loved ones to the same disease, with one leaving behind a young child. I hope Abigail will get to read this when she’s old enough. Even though there are parts about faith in it, I’m sure that anyone who has lost someone will benefit from reading it. Thank you for the helpful review.

I felt so moved after reading this review. This question: "Would it have spoilt some great eternal plan to have let them live, God?..." I wish there was a comforting answer to it.
Congratulations to the author for this endearing feat. I hope Abigail loves this book.
