I like authors who are creative with the theme they write about in a book. I am surprisingly pleased to note that the comparison of eras can be written about. I'm eager to read the wealth of knowledge in this book.

Joe succinctly covers the detrimental impacts of technological advancements, especially in corrupting moral values. Thanks for the review.

I love that you highlight the "much-needed" comparative aspect between then and now. Providing that crucial context helps readers understand how much has shifted societally in both positive and negative directions.

This is a good book. A lot has changed, and it hasn't all been for the better. While we applaud the improvements, we need not turn a blind eye to the declines. Unless our values have changed as well. Thank you for the review.

A very relevant and interesting subject. I have been receiving post in my fb account on this subject so many times from different sources. I am looking forward, based on the review, to the detailed discussion, careful analyses, and the comparison of the past and present of those 70 years in the 17 different areas, as well as the definite answer or the "candid opinion". Without reading it yet, I will agree with the opinion. We all know it, at any rate, I believe. The review gave a glimpse of the conclusion. The title alone revealed it all. But perhaps the better part of reading is the enumeration of all the changes and so called "advances or transformations in everyday life" and how it will pierce or amuse us. I for one have always been amused and nostalgic looking intently at post in my fb account of similar nature. Very Nice! I hope the recommendations from the book are workable, Individually and collectively.

So I have decided to give this book a go, but I am not convinced it will be my type of book. I always see value in reading books and opinions that differ from mine so I am open to it. But so far I feel that there is a lot the author is not considering and possibly looking back with rose tinted glasses and dismissing a lot of good that has happened. I personally am not religious and I do feel sometimes an assumption is made that we need the fear of God to be good, which I very much disagree with. Saying this, I also believe we shouldn't forget the past and can always learn from it, both the good and bad.
