I'm certainly curious about Marceli's survival tactics during the Spanish flue, how he survived from being infected and the impact that losing his parents had on him. Thank you for the review.

Swallows Also Fall by C.R. Armeny is a book about Marcelino Massana and his role in the fight against Franco's tyrannical rule. The author is connected to Marcel's foster family and has shared how Marcel was portrayed as a terrorist by the government to defame him and hide his real identity. Readers who enjoy historical war stories, especially the Spanish Civil War, will love this book. Congratulations on the BOTD!

I have read only vague accounts on the Spanish Flu. Through this book, I am intrigued by the role of a certain person known as Marcelino Massana. Thanks for the review.

The book's exploration of Marcelino's character reveals the complexities of his motivations and actions, challenging readers to consider the blurred lines between heroism and terrorism in times of conflict.

Not sure if I might be tempted to read this book, and not just because I don't like reading memoirs of any kind, but because of my own experiences with church. It is kind of hard to believe that the institution is all good, when you hear about "The Magdalene Sisters" and first-hand reports about their inner kitchen, as I did from my cousin married to a priest. Apologies, I prefer to pass, but still congratulations on BOTD!

In this historical book the author focuses on Spain’s history and Civili War and in particular the Catalonian resistance. Sounds like a really interesting read from the sample! I love that the author is related to the family in the story, thanks for highlighting that in your review!

"Swallows Also Fall" by CR Armeny delves into the life of Marcelino Massana, who, after losing his parents during the Spanish Flu, was raised in a strict church environment. Influenced by his oppressive surroundings, he later opposed Franco’s regime by forming a group of "Maquis." Despite limited historical information, the author skillfully fills in the gaps, offering a compelling account of Massana's exploits and impact on the Spanish Civil War. This historically grounded book earns a 5-star rating and is highly recommended for history enthusiasts. Thank you for a great review.

This review has given me three reasons to read this book. First, narratives based on civil wars and history never fail to intrigue me. Second, the mention of the book's mixed perspectives has piqued my interest. Lastly, I would like to know how the author's relation to Marcel influence the content of the book. Great job!

Although I didn't know who Marcelino Massana was, I am glad his relative took the time and effort to write about him and set the record straight. It is not uncommon for the legacy of many people who lived positively impactful lives to be misconstrued.

"Swallows Also Fall" by CR Armeny is a historical book based on the life of Spanish civil war revolutionary Marcel·lí Massana. I didn't know much about him before reading the sample. But the given sample really increased my interest on the topic. And that is because of the writing style of the author. I look forward to read the book. Great review. Thanks BOTD.

Historical fiction that tells the story of the Spanish war and the Spanish flu seems interesting. I always enjoy historical fiction about history from different places, especially related to European history. Reading your review makes me even more eager to read this book. Thank you for writing this. What a great review.

The author’s connection to Marcelino's foster family as described in your review adds a personal touch to the historical recounting, providing an authentic and passionate portrayal of his life. The narrative perspective shifts can be a bit confusing, but once pieced together, they add a unique depth to the storytelling, reflecting the complexity of historical memory. I definitely will immerse myself fully inti this book.

I wonder the churches hypocrisy, that Marceli is brought up by it and grows up to oppose for oppressing it's people.
