This is a great book. Overcoming the challenges of life right from a tender age is not easy. Thank God Moon accepted Christ and still walk in grace. What a great review.

I notice you recommend this book to Christians, but I'm curious enough to at least scour it for historical content. In particular, I'm interested to know the differences between life in the north and south in the period prior to which Korea became two states. Moon doesn't seem to have fared better for his move to the south.

I found while reading the sample pages, this story was very interesting and sad in parts of it. I may finish it later on. Not sure yet.

About a quarter into reading the book, I had to go back to the first page of the book. It sounded as fiction and not a true-life event. Having read the book's publisher's statement, I was convinced it wasn't a fiction.
Reading the OnlineBookClub official review, it finally dawned on me it's not a fictional story.
Witnessng the death of his grandmother, the separation with his father - he being in North Korea, his father in the South. Having to pass the tight-secured border between the north and the south in the hands of a guide who didn't care he's a child, his father dying of a stroke (her mother having died when he's little), a close female friend to his father whom he'd grown to call mother, the hatred of his sister's mother-in-law in him, the invasion of North Korea on South...Moon underwent a rough childhood. The betrayal and the rejection he felt were too much on him especially his Stepmom getting married to another man after the death of his father, and leaving him in the hands of his elder sister.
This is a book I'm looking forward to purchase since I'm a Christian, and at that, interested in learning real stories of people, and the light they found from the Bible.
A must read for everyone.

I have not heard of this series, but it does sound interesting. I enjoy stories that are set in Korea.

The Bulletproof Missionary's gripping tale follows Moon's journey from North Korea to America amidst wars and loss. His encounters with Chaplain Vajda add a unique twist, making me eager to explore his inspiring path to becoming a respected missionary.

As a non-Christian, I am not the target audience for this book, yet I can understand how inspiring it must be to read about the hardships that have been overcome.

Life of missionary is quite challenging but rewarding. I admire Moon's decision in converting Christianity through the influence of Vajda. It shows that there's people came that changed our lives for the better. I love the inspiring story of Moon. Congratulations to the author on BOTD!
