Honest, real and leaves me wanting more after just the first 2 chapters. the fact that the story is told from both sisters perspectives makes it even more interesting. I am excited to read this book, a great writing style, flows easily and very well written.

It seems that there is little account of Sharon's life relative to Lisa's. The contrast in their lives would make an interesting story in itself.

This memoir sounds captivating and emotional. It’s not often that readers get multiple perspectives in a memoir, so that’s a rare treat. After all, there’s more than one side to every story, and it’s not possible to get the whole truth without hearing from everyone involved. Thank you for the helpful review.

2 sisters with completely different lives. I wonder how she recovers and how her sister helps her out. Thank you for the review!

:techie-studyinggray: It's surprising how two close people with the same blood, ideals and values can have such vast differences in their life experiences. As a family we often fail to recognise the strong individualities of our close ones. Though I'm not much into memoirs, this review has made me really look forward to reading the book. Thank you for the insightful review.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. Taking the topic of addiction into consideration, I have decided not to add this book to my reading list.

I was worried that this novel would fall into the trap most stories do with two or more perspectives, where one perspective is more engaging than the other. Which leads readers to become bored, or to simply skip over half the book, and while I wouldn't say this is my kind of read, I can see its appeal for those who would be into this 'slice of life' kind of novel. Both perspectives where nicely written, one perspective was not more captivating than the other and overall had a nice balance.

This review is an encouraging one. It shows the level of love that dwells in the family, despite the hurdles they experienced. Even after Sharon blossomed in her career, whereas things became rough for Liz, they still strived to make her life better. That's quite motivating.

The bond of the two sisters can be very strong yet hard to maintain at times. How they are recovering from addiction and understanding how it effects not only them but those who are around is very real fact. Congrats on BOTD!!

Life's like that. Two sisters with two contradictory attitudes. Sharon being modest while Lisa being the opposite. Sisters will forever be sisters. Blood is thicker than water. Many siblings out there can relate to this story.
Reading is a journey to the world.
