I really like non linear books and being a true life experience makes it more captivating. Seems like the author did a good job in making the back and forth time travel enjoyable. I would definitely read this. Thank you for the review.

A tale about Jeannine Quellette's family life from growing up, through motherhood and then her trauma recovery. She tells about her year she lived with her biological father and his wife and the sexual abuse she endured living with her stepfather at an early age. This had to be a tough book to write when she had to relive the abuse all over again in her mind and when putting it down on paper. Her story is told in a non-linear fashion and the timelines cross at different times. Very good review of a heartwarming book that includes tragic events.

I appreciate memoirs, especially ones with abuses. It's really a bold step to write these things for others to read. Great book, nice review

While I admire the author's courage and refusal to give up, there is nothing about the story that piques my interest. But I'm sure that my memoir loving friends would love to read this book. Thanks for such a detailed review.

I appreciate Ouellette’s bravery in sharing her life story with readers, including the ugly and/or traumatic parts. Writing this book was probably not easy, but hopefully it was also cathartic for her. I’m sure there are people out there who will find experiences they can relate to and solace in seeing that they’re not alone. Thank you for the helpful review.

It takes a lot of courage to put an emotional journey to the forefront, for people to read and follow through the experience. Along with the allegory, the review is also supremely engrossing.

Sounds like Ouellette went through a problem growing up and was abused by a stepfather that's weak but I am thankful that you shared your message I respect that and thanks to the author. :tiphat:

Thank you for such a beautiful review. You have captured so many great points and a few not so good ones.
I probably won’t be reading this with all the pedophile and sexual content in it. I just can’t.
Ty for being honest.
