I don't think that the book is for me. I dislike reading about religion. I don't want to read the author’s interpretation of biblical stories. I will pass on reading this book.

It is quite an interesting theory. I'm not sure whether the Christians would agree with the author. Since I'm not a Christian I can read this book with an open mind. Though I usually don't read books related to religions I'm gonna give this book a try.

This review does a great job of convincing me to read this book. I am very interested in Gnostic Christianity and the Nag Hammadi.

For any who finds this review/ book I would recommend you also read “Hagar the Egyptian: the Lost Tradition of the Matriarchs” by Sabina J. Teubal and also “The Crucifixion of Mary Magdalene” by Richard J. Hooper.

This is a very interesting review and very well written too. Unfortunately I don't think I will bother with the book. I am a Christian with the absolute belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the He died for mankind. So I would have to classify this book as an unnecessary read.

This book seems to hold a completely different take than the long-prevailing belief. As much interesting as it sounds, this is, sadly, not my cup of tea. I am glad that you enjoyed the book and analyzed the author's views so well. Thanks for the thorough and insightful review!

The concept of a succession of masters starting with James the Just, or Judas as we know him in popular culture, is original at best. This could create a disturbance for those who are bonded to their own strong theology of Judas as the epitome of ultimate betrayal. The name itself has become synonymous with disloyalty, thus the notion of this figure as a master presents a unique line of thinking. While stimulating to theorize the differing notions of the symbol, the author has certainly taken a chance with the line of inquiry.

I think am going to pass on this one. I think there's too much information nowadays one can easily be misled without even realising. I rely on my Bible for information so anything contrasting it is a no. Thanks for the review.

'Official Review: Misreading Judas by Robert Wahler' presents the underlying theory of the book. It is a detailed one and provides ample opportunity for the readers to judge their choices and preferences before deciding to read the book. The facts such as the Gnostic Gospel and Eastern mysticism explained in the review are highly informative!

Thanks for the review. Misreading Judas by Robert Wahler sounds like a religious book related to Christianity. The Gospel of Judas was misread by biblical scholars. The description about Judas and Jesus in the Gospel were misread, and Robert Wahler tries to convey the proper story through this novel. Nice the reviewer enjoyed reading the book.

When coming to gospel, there are many version and approach to what really happened. Wahler's book is also another eye opener to what could possibly have happened, compared to what we have been made to understand.

Misreading Judas by Robert Wahler

This book seems to be true to the writer and I think I should study more on this so as to be convinced. Otherwise to me it is like fiction because of the foundation of my christian faith I have been building on for years.

However, I don't want to reject this view before I study and try to understand gnostics because it may be true and therefore i end my review here with a 2 out of 4.

Sorry but this book is not in my interest whatsoever. My beliefs are strong and I am not in the same page with the author about how he think Jesus was and the relationship he had with Judas.

I recently read about the Gospel of Thomas that was discovered before the 11th century. Now comes the Gospel of Judas! Things are getting really interesting as far as Christian doctrine is concerned. I would rather read this book first before making any conclusive stand about the same. Nice review.

A fascinating look at some of the recently discovered texts which may one day become part of biblical canon; I had little idea about them before running across this book!
