I don't know how it helps for a person using English as a foreign language. But sounds helpful.

I know poetry is words and sentences with deep meaning. But to understand the meaning of a poem is hard for me. And refering the review, this book contains the steps to comprehend and interpret a poetry. So this book is educating and useful for everyone who wants to learn poems. Very good book. I want to read it too.

Among the three genres of literature, poetry always poses some difficulty to me, even as a literary student. The major area i still found difficult is determining the rhythm and in some cases rhymes of a poem. So, i think this book will be very useful to me. Thanks for your review.

A book with tips to understand poetry better looks quite helpful to me. While I enjoy some poetry, sometimes I don't get the meanings of some. The book sounds like a must read for me. Congrats on BOTD!!

Very helpful book to those who are amateur in reading poetry. Reading poetry is most of the time difficult because the reader has to dig deeper to decipher the emotions of the poet. This will help to understand the beautiful poetries. Congrats BOTD!

It’s great that Last tries to make understanding and interpreting poetry more accessible to more people. I’m curious to see if he truly managed to do it. My focus in school was prose, particularly fiction, but I took many poetry-related courses as well—as both a reader/interpreter and a poet—that have contributed to my love/hate relationship with poetry, so it’ll be interesting to see if a book like this would be able to help future English majors. Thank you for the helpful review.

Poetry is a language on its own. It is a language of the heart that bypasses the mind. I am impressed with the author's efforts in coming up with a book that helps people understand poetry: offering practical tests to help along the way.
