Great review! It's very well written and really makes me want to read this book. I do not usually read books like this but this seems like something worth the read.

First Survivor is a heart wrenching story about a family facing a parent's worst nightmare, their baby has Cancer! How they cope and try to maintain some semblance a normal life is so courageous! They kept the focus on Louis and not on their own distress and fears. Keeping a journal was an excellent coping tool. They did research, trying find out everything that they could about the disease. Taking this journey with this incredible family is truly inspiring. The family and expert doctors unite to help Louis beat this horrific disease. Excellent review. :tiphat:

I'm sorry about the frequent errors that detracted from your enjoyment of the book. I hope the author considers your recommendations in the next edition.

“First Survivor: The Impossible Childhood Cancer Breakthrough” by Mark Unger is a story about Louis, a child cancer patient, that survived a diagnosis of “zero chance of survival” to becoming the First Survivor. Imagine the horrors of being a parent of a child diagnosed with incurable cancer and what you would do to save your child. This is a true story about Louis that underwent seven years of testing, scans and treatments for his rare cancer disease. Lou became the first patient to receive a new protocol treatment that saved his life. This is an amazing story that showed parents that would not give up on their son and refused to be intimidated by doctor titles. They never gave up and they authorized new treatments that had not been used before to ultimately save their son. A very good book and review.

Thank you for sharing your heartfelt review of "First Survivor: The Impossible Childhood Cancer Breakthrough" by Mark Unger. It's evident that this book touched your heart deeply and left a lasting impact on you.

Lou's journey and his family's unwavering determination to seek the best possible treatment for him are truly inspiring. The inclusion of photographs depicting Lou's progress and growth added a personal touch to the narrative, making it even more touching and relatable.

While you appreciated the transparency and advocacy shown by Mark and Mary Ellen, it's unfortunate that the presence of grammatical errors and technical descriptions of medications somewhat affected your overall reading experience.

Nonetheless, the remarkable spirit and resilience displayed by Lou throughout his illness undoubtedly make his story an inspiration for anyone facing challenges in life. Parents with hospitalized children would find hope and comfort in this tale, knowing that advocacy and perseverance can lead to positive outcomes even in the face of daunting medical situations.

Your review beautifully captures the essence of the book, and your thoughtful comments about the financial and insurance aspects may be beneficial to other readers navigating similar circumstances.

Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, and I'm sure your review will encourage others to explore this powerful story of courage, love, and hope. 📘🌟

For a child to have to go through all the protocols to achieve a cure for their cancer must be very tough. The pain and suffering of the child is enough to break any heart. In *First Survivor* by Mark Unger, the father of a child with cancer has published material from his journals about how their family got through the cancer diagnosis and have now a cancer free child. It must have been a really difficult time but as advocates for their child the family got the right medicines and help they needed. This may be a good read for everyone, especially if anyone you know needs to go through this situation.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

"This book is an absolute gem, striking the perfect balance between heart-wrenching and uplifting. The author masterfully weaves a compelling story that not only captivates but also offers a genuine sense of encouragement. Through the challenges faced by the main character's son, the narrative serves as a poignant reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the strength we can find within ourselves during difficult times. It's a truly inspiring read that will resonate with anyone who has ever confronted adversity or uncertainty in their lives.

It really made me sad to know the amount of pain he is going through. The Strong hope of his parents made me to believe that some miracle will happen & also the efforts made by doctors through researches gave the hope to find a way for improvement. Thanks for the review!
