I am normally more of a full on book reader, a lover of stories if you will. I do however have an appreciation for poems. The review is enticing, it is well written and it shows great enjoyment for the book of poems. I'm still not quite sure however that it is one I would like to read ... Only because when it comes to such works, I have a particular preference. The writing style in and of itself is just not something I can see myself being thrilled about. I will say though that the review makes me wonder if maybe I'd be willing to give it a go. Maybe.

I love how the author conveys his feelings in simple language. It's really nice that his poems are heartfelt, and it makes you look at the things that matter the most.

The poem seems to cover a lot of aspects of the author's life spanning his lifetime - his love for the nation, firm belief in God, love for the family, etc. Thank you for the review!
The disappearance of the word "I am" is indeed the highest happiness! :)

Not really a fan of poems myself, but the scene with the fridge does sound quite amusing. Thanks for the great review!

To be honest I'm bad at writing a poem. I couldn't even tell if a poem was good or bad. But I think I would like Bob's style in writing one, for what you just said that they're pretty straightforward. Probably relatable. Cause I'm straightforward too. It would be great to hear a bit of your voice from a poet's writing.

[*]I am not a fan of poetic journals and do not find them very attractive to read. It is always easy for me to get bored whenever I do but the focus of this particular one seems interesting, and with this great analytic review I think it may be worth the try but it may take a while for me to get to it. Congratulations for being BOTD.

This review of "Poems About Things That Mattered Most: Faith, Family, Country" by Bob Dowell paints a vivid picture of the book's compelling content. With thought-provoking poems that delve into matters of faith, family, and patriotism, it appears to be a worthwhile and inspiring read. The reviewer praised the author's profound love for God, his family, and his country, making the poems relatable and meaningful. The use of metaphors and allusions added depth to the poems, making them exceptional. Overall, this review suggests that the book is a good choice for poetry lovers and non-believers alike, with its ability to evoke emotions and encourage appreciation for the important things in life. Heartfelt moments, brought tears to my eyes.

This collection of poems will enable one to ponder about the little things that matter in life. Poetry is a type of therapy. When I read poetry, I am bombarded with images that are frozen in time some place in my mind. Because we are all human, we can somehow identify or empathize with the written word of a poet. Thanks for this review.
