James sounds like a likeable and relatable guy. I like that he makes light of certain situations like getting a C. We all need that sometimes in life. I also like that the book discusses important matters like racism. We can never have enough of that conversation. It needs to become a conscious part of us. Great review!

The slice of life looks back on how it was like to be a teenager in a particular era. It is nostalgic for the once young and an eye-opener for the younger ones. Congratulations on Book of the Day!

Looks like 90s story and since it is a memoir, definitely it’ll be good.

I like that this book touches a sensitive theme which is affecting the world today, racism. Racism will be a thing of the past if parents can actually raise their kids to see people for who they really are instead of their skin colour. Whether black or white it's the person's personality that matters. I'll like to know more about the author's story. Thanks for the great review

The hallmark of memoirs that appeal to me is honesty. I'm glad that the author held nothing back in telling his story. I'll definitely add this to my reading list.
