I like that this author has taken a profession which is sometimes very difficult and focused on the positives. Care workers, as the author refers to them, are truly inspiring people, and deserve much more than they receive for the work that they do. I'm glad the book was enjoyable.

Not exactly a book I would read, however I completely agree about caregivers being underpaid, and being unsung heroes. I have had first hand experience in this world and let me tell you, these people deserve so much more than they get.

It's nice to read that the author was able to put a positive spin on situations that could be very depressing! I enjoyed your review, and I think this sounds like a good book, especially for someone who likes shorter anecdotal stories.

Congrats on the review! Sounds very heartwarming. Maybe not my genre, though.

I agree with Bulteel when he emphasized that care workers are the unsung heroes and are underpaid. They give service that requires time with other people who cannot do for themselves. Sometimes working as care workers brings out the best in us when we are humble to each other. I enjoyed reading this review.

Thank you for your review. I especially like the way you've related your own employment experiences to the author's. Caregiving not only takes skill but a lot of empathy and patience as well, I believe, thus I agree that it shouldn't be underestimated. I also believe that workers, regardless of job nature, also need to be properly compensated; any deviations has to be addressed. No matter who we are, or what we do for a living, we have our own individual stories and battles we fight each day that we may never be aware of or know about; thus, as often said yet at times forgotten, let's remember to be nice to one another. Even a single kind gesture has the potential to tip the balance to favour goodness over what's not so.

Thanks for the great review. Health care workers and even health care case managers are often overlooked in recognition of their services. Them and social workers can see the worst in people in the worst situations of theirs lives, but they can also come out of them with some of the most hilarious stories. I agree that this is a definite read. And not just for people for anyone who has been in the industry, but also anyone who has needed one or and someone in their family who has. People need to see the other side of the coin. I will never forget the hospices worker who came to my home with an open heart and cried with us when my grandmother died.

Truly being a care worker is the true unsung heroes and any job related to this field. I think from this book we will be able to learn to be selfless. It appears to me this book is worth reading especially to renew the human conscience in this rotten world.

Thanks for the thorough review! I work in healthcare as well and can definitely relate to feeling underpaid and unappreciated.

I read the sample and was chuckling at almost every page. His descriptive language is wonderful and I felt like I was there. The Amazon sample has some serious editing problems, though. Good review!

My friend is a care worker and I think that is one of the most underrated jobs. It is refreshing to read a book about them. The story is so true and heart warming.

Great review! I'm curious how much the book addresses the author's reason for a career change after spending so long in the catering business. Sometimes a change can be very good for a person, but I'm curious specifically about what led him to make the change.

L.O.L, Sounds familiar. The review was truly great. The sensitivities, laughter. And sometimes sadness. Is all a
part of the daily routine. Caring.
