Thank you for the review. It's not my kind of literature, but this collection of short stories about different facets of life has its appeal, and the theme around the swamp-life microculture looks pretty peculiar.

The "Storyteller" format is one that strongly appeals to me personally and based on this review Tales from the Rivrside sounds like a book I could enjoy, though I think I might find the "lol"s too disruptive. I started the sample of this book on Amazon and I felt that the author's open conversational prose drew the reader in.

I enjoyed reading your review. Thanks for your input.

What a peculiar way to outline one’s own life — through this “swampy” lens. I like that the author’s writing feels accessible too! Thanks for the review.

I'm not sure if this is my type of book, but I'll keep it in mind for others.

A story of a completely different lifestyle is my cup of tea. I'm glad that the author explains some of the swamp jargon since I am a city girl. Thanks for the excellent review.

Living in the swamp takes a special kind of person. This book tells Larry Landgraf's story of life on the Guadalupe River on the Texas Gulf coast. Alligators, mosquitoes, and snakes are just some of the critters encountered on the swamp. Congratulations to the author for being chosen as BOTD. Thanks to the reviewer for your excellent review.

I am not a fan of short stories & non-fiction. But the introduction given in the review made me curious. Congrats on BOTD.

The swamp appears to be an interesting place to live nearby. I wonder what kind of lifestyle one can live when living there. Thanks for your review.

Not the kind of book for me, I'm afraid. I'm not really into biographies or short story collections, and I don't think I'd be too thrilled with the usage of "lol"s in the book either - unless it was used in a texting or social media context, I think that would drive me nuts. Still, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the book, and the author does make the Texas swamps sound interesting!

'Official Review: Tales from the Riverside by Larry Landgraf' well explains the contents of the book! The description of the swamp area sets the reflective mood of the reader. The reader knows at once that the book is for him or her. I like the beginning as well as the ending of the review!

A memoir about what it is like to live in a swamp (the good, bad, and absolutely terrifying) has caught my attention. After reading the sample, I learned that the placement of the red, yellow, and black rings on a snake determines if it is poisonous or not. I look forward to reading more of this book that appears to be well-written. Great review, thanks!

Seems to me this book is just a compilation of the author's memories, snippets of his life, but your review makes it interesting to read.
