Thank you for sharing your review with us. It is a sad day when you find yourself on the outside of an organization you helped build, even if only by attendance. I do find it odd as you mention that the author did not really introduce her daughter into her story...could it possibly be that she felt her daughter was not relevant to this story or maybe her daughter asked to be excluded from the book?

nooregano, my mind was blown away by your review! Such beauty and sophistication and graceful presentation of your review by might of your gargantuan prowess.

Since the book is not available in my country, India, your review is what I am dependent on. To say things honestly, I got every nook and cranny of the book from your review.

It's a good thing the author was emotionally intelligent not to lash out at those annoying her, but personally I've always known about the discrepancies in churches; thus I'm not surprised. What is more, I'm not interested in reading about it. Thanks for the review.

Wow, this book is what my church needs today. My church is experiencing the same shift, with Calvinism also at tow. This is perfect and your review is totally enlightening. Thanks for your review!

"Once An Insider, Now Without a Church Home"
by Amanda Farmer is a first-person account of a faith crisis. An interesting read, but the genre for me. Congratulations on BOTD!!

The author has been a devout Christian all her life, but trouble arose when her church adopted changes that made her question the validity of those actions. This story narrates the conflict that caused the author and her husband to abandon their home church.

I dont think I will read this one only because I dont really read autobiographies. I know what it feels like to out grow a church in a way until I found the one that kept me fed. So I can only imagine how the author felt when it appeared the ideologies of their church had changed. This one is not for me, but congratulations on BOTD.

I feel that I can relate to the author because I have been in church for many years of my life, but I am slowly pulling away from it. It is hard to stay involved in something when the ideas of love, acceptance, and teaching have taken a complete turn. Thank you for a well-written and informative review! :tiphat:
