I found it very surprising to read that the author of this book believes that the information this book contains comes from a higher source. In other words, this book is a revelation from God.

SPIRITUALITY Modern Disciples of Jesus Christ by Bettina E Obernuefemann seems very helpful to other people struggling with the same problem. It's very inspiring to know the author's journey. Congo on #botd.

I was interested when I saw the title of the book but I'm not sure it was what I am looking for after reading the reviews. You did a great job on the review but I think I'll pass on reading this one.

The author was able to find a way to alleviate the PTSD symptoms she was suffering. The review highlights the calming tone used to share and teach her beliefs. I disagree with the idea of spirit guides apart from the Holy Spirit.

I am now bound to believe that experiences in child abuse do lead to some achievement in later life. With the experience comes guidance for success in future endeavors. (Oprah has been abused in childhood as per her admission). Many more had admitted a grim past. This book should prove beneficial to guide us in our spiritual lives. Thanks for the insightful review.

I have never read a spiritual or Christian book for fear of it being preachy and overbearing in wanting one to convert. From the review this book seems to come from a more subtle perspective. If it proves as a means for guidance even for the agonistic then I would be interested in reading. As the author is just giving a presentation of how she has been helped through spirituality with her pains, a tone of genuinity should reverberate throughout.

The concepts in this book sounds interesting, and quite comforting, but I don't think I would be able to read the whole book. I can see how many readers out there would be interested in this book. I plan on coming back to try this after a few years, when I'm more interested in non-fiction. The reviewer did an excellent job and the review was very informative.

"Believes that the info contained in here is from a higher source" , I love that line . In these times, deciding to pursue spiritual path is key to living life to the full. Real Christianity is a spiritual journey to meet the Creator. Would love to get my hands on this , the review is intriguing.

What an admirable way to heal from childhood wounds. I can appreciate that she is never preachy, but I personally am not religious, so this would not appeal to me. Nevertheless, lovely review. Very eloquently written.

As a Catholic myself, I've always wanted to find ways to develop my spirituality. But at the same time, I don't completely believe in everything the Catholic religion preaches. For example, that there are certain prayers that need to be recited or that the 'correct' way to pray is through the rosary. I feel that it is more open and that you can talk to God the same way you talk to a friend. I really think I'd enjoy this book simply because I think it will give me the permission to strengthen my relationship with God without being bound by traditions. Overall, thanks for an amazing review!

:) :) The author has chosen to overcome her own illness by engaging in delving deeper into the growing undercurrent of spiritually driven Christians all over the world.
It would be an interesting read......

Though I'm not very much into this genre, I'm interested in knowing the talk between the author and her inner guidance. Nice review.

So I'm just wondering if/how this book may threaten or water down some of the hard-line stances of the Christian faith. Still, I'd like to read the author's opinion about followers of Jesus Christ as the book title suggests.
