What makes the BOTD worth reading is the fact the parents were willing to challenge the doctors to fight cancer. Big pharma has the answer, but they make no money if they "Cure" instead of "treat" the problem.

Thank you for your great review. I did enjoy the sample and wondered how each one of them made it through the ordeal. I will have to think about whether or not I want to read this book because it sounds so difficult for any parent to go through what they did. I'm sure that those who know anyone in this situation could find encouragement and wonderful ideas to help them.

Having to go through such a life-changing experience and come out of it stronger is a true test of one's mettle. This journal by a caring father sounds like a very moving account of the entire family's resilience. A great book for #BOTD. Great job on the review.

I read the difficult story of Louis' illness and how his parents tried to deal with this situation, the love and dedication that transpires from his father's writing moved me very much. I have kids and I've been thinking about how I would deal with it if it happened to me and I honestly think a tsunami of emotions would have hit me about it, like they did. The courage and strength they demonstrate set an example for all of us.

The story revolves around Lou, who was diagnosed with cancer at the young age of 3. Despite the grim prognosis given by the doctors, Lou's parents, Mark & Mary Ellen, became passionate advocates for their son and other families facing similar challenges. An inspiring non-fiction book narrates the unique medical journey of a child who defied the odds and became the first survivor. The book is currently discounted on Amazon Kindle and has received a positive review from OnlineBookClub. I acknowledge the author's heartfelt and conversational writing style. The story offers hope and advice to families dealing with a sick child, particularly those battling cancer, and is sure to inspire many readers. :) :) :)
