Although the explanation of how biotechnology development has and will affect human evolution is interesting. It's unfortunate that I happen to be a fan of fiction and based on reality stories .
Science books don't fit my fancy that much, so I will not read the whole book.

I agree with the author that in this capitalistic society, any sort of gene therapy/medical treatment that could cure diseases would only be available to the rich and that this should not be the case, i.e., accessibility to medical treatment should be extended to the population, and not the top 1% of society. Thanks for the review.

The new Eugenics is about gene analysis that can help or hurt humanity. History has shown that scientists that have tried to play God met with disaster and harmed humanity. Using gene alterations could harm humanity forever. One example sited was if a homosexual gene was identified should a pregnant woman be told the truth and she might choose to have an abortion. I would side with this as an abuse of science and should not be allowed. This was a difficult official review to read since it is so heavily laden with scientific facts.

I consider it a nice idea and a good style of using scientific backups to explain new eugenics. Good job!

I won’t lie, the term “eugenics” alone makes my stomach churn. While I can see the benefit in some genetic engineering and medical genetics, especially in the area of disease, there’s a line that must be drawn when it comes to labeling people as lesser because of their genetics—be that their race, a mental disability, a physical deformity or disability, or even their hair or eye color. I’m sure there are some points I might disagree with Dr. Quintyn on—I rarely ever agree with anyone 100%, although this author might surprise me with the strength of his argument—but I’m glad that he is addressing New Eugenics this way and think I would find his book fascinating. Thank you for the helpful review.

Aside in-vitro fertilization, I really do not have enough knowledge on the other concepts discussed in the book and being someone that loves to learn new things; I'm definitely reading this book. Great review.

It's commendable that the author managed to remain objective. Again, he seems to know exactly what he's writing about. Good job on the review, LinaMu

Genetic engineering is going to be an active topic of debate in the coming future. No matter what the grey areas surrounding this topic, it's progress will not be halted. From the sample I read, I found the arguments very detailed and rational, relying mainly on the grounds of scientific facts and development. The questions raised are very valid ones because it highlights how this field can emerge like a two edged sword and the moral dilemmas it will raise.
It does seem like a difficult read for someone with a non science background but it does seem like a detailed treatment of an important subject.

I am definitely adding this to my reading list.
Thanks for the review. It's objective and clear.

Whoa, I think this book is out of my league! But I agree that investing in wars is foolish. Let's use the world's wealth to ensure humanity's health.

I honestly have never made a concerted effort to research anything in eugenics, mostly because it's over my head. This book do nds like a good place to start, though.

I am not really interested in eugenics as I find it a difficult topic. However, I appreciate that the author gives an objective view of the matter. Thank you for the review.
