It sounds like a beautiful tragedy in a poetic memoir with an engaging prose. I feel like I can totally relate in this book. I am compelled pick this book up and absorb the images and breathe through the author's searing recollections. Ahh, might help me with my writing block. Thanks.

It's evident that the author is good at her work when she's able to so seamlessly express herself and tell her story both through the voice of a child and an adult.

I love reading memoirs, but this seems to be an intense life story about the author. Stories featuring family drama can sometimes be entertaining or stir emotional feelings. I find this story to be emotional, and as much as I would love to read, I don't think my reading experience will be as I'd love it to be. I will skip this book. Sorry.

I'm fond of reminiscing the past, so I can relate to the author's way of expressing herself. Strong emotions associated with a core memory definitely give a lasting impression in our mind. I'll see if I can tolerate reading the nonlinear flow of events in her story. Congratulations on the BOTD.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. This story is a little too emotionally charged for me, so I think I will pass on this book for now.

Kudos to the author for having the courage to share all the good as well as the bad parts of her life. I'm sure there's a lot to learn from this memoir.

This seems to be an emotional memoir (reader's discretion required - there is some description of pedophilia). Thank you for this nice review!

She gives snippets of the sexual abuse by her stepfather at an early age. .....
its so painful to me hearing how women and young girls are sexually been abused :hand: :hand: :hand:
Hmmm! PAinful, I can't even stand hearing it, so just pause it, what you need is revenge.
Every woman that has been abused is on a revenge mission, so either I help in revenging for you or I just walk away, that's what I do. :ugeek2: :ugeek2:
