The author's perspective is not a bad one, and I think I'd resonate with the content of this book , but I don't think I'd read this now. Rachel's husband's aim is to inform Abigail and also advice her. Thanks for your honest review.

Add to that the frequent references to family members long gone, and the ancient Welsh language that is never far from the author’s pen, and the sense is of something immutable; individual lives are brief, but they are part of something much bigger that survives.
The need for such a letter and the motivation behind it are undeniably sad. The contents are invaluable and a wonderful way for Abigail to gain insight into her family and cultural heritage.
Congratulations on BOTD and thank you for your honest and sensitively written review.

This book is an interesting yet very sad memoir. I’m quite selective on nonfictions, autobiographies and memoirs. This is a good book for lovers of family stories. It is also good for the bereaved. Nice one. Congratulations on being the book of the day! Nice review too.

This seems to be a heartrending tale of love and loss, joy and grief. I would love to read the author's letter to her granddaughter. Thanks for the review!

This is a touching book. It's unfortunate that the author lost both his wife and daughter to ovarian cancer. I appreciate the fact that the author decided to publish this for people to read. Congratulations on making book of the day!

The book seems awesome and intriguing. Though sad, it passes a great lesson to the reader. I love how the author teaches Abigail about her mother. great write up.

I love that amid grief, the author quite creatively introduced humour into the storyline. It'll be interesting to find out how the author is able to move on from all the losses he experienced. Great review.

I am curious about what the author wrote to his granddaughter Abigail. Losing both your wife and daughter to the same disease sounds horrendous but I am glad the author has good memories of them to share with his granddaughter. This book sounds interesting so congratulations on BOTD.

I could feel the grief and pain of the author losing the people he loved the most to the cold hands of death through the same ailment. However, I think the humourous characterization will put some succour and relief to readers. I'm not a fan of too much parenthesis and dashes while reading. Congrats on being the #BOTD!

I'm a sucker for this, although I am not a fan of memoirs. But I already feel sad by just looking at the book cover. Id like to give this a try. I need a good cry anyway. Thanks so much.

It's certainly amazing, the powerful emotions that can charge such a book to be written. That's some seriously tragic loss; the kind that would keep me up at night, possibly for months. Maybe longer. I would certainly question the existence of God and my own mortality. I hope he has found peace in a hope for everlasting life with his loved ones, in Jehovah's Kingdom.

Losing two close beloved people of the family is very hard to digest. I laud the author for making this book possible with a lot of grief with humor inside. But I will skip this book as it will be an emotional outburst for me. Thanks for the review. Congrats on the BOTD!

This story leans a bit on the tender side for me, but I know many will enjoy it. It's great that it achieved a four-star rating and that it will suit more than one age group. Thanks for a great review!
