This review makes "Quest: Finding Freddie" sound incredibly engaging! The mix of historical context, political tension, and the personal quest to find Mr. Nachman has me intrigued. I’m excited to see how Mr. Spradlin navigates these challenges.

Can't say anything specific about this book, because the subject matter never hold any kind of appeal to me. It is not only about Nigeria itself, but the entire continent's history, therefore I prefer to pass this book, but still congratulations on BOTD!

The review of Quest: Finding Freddie by Thomas Richard Spradlin captured my attention with its vivid recounting of the perilous journey undertaken by Mr. Spradlin in Lagos. The historical context, following the assassination of General Murtala Muhammed, adds a layer of tension and authenticity to the narrative. It's fascinating to see how the author blends a real-life mystery with detailed cultural and political insights, painting a comprehensive picture of Nigeria during the 1970s. The mention of Mr. Spradlin’s efforts to adapt to the local vernacular and the challenges he faced due to the political climate resonates deeply. This book seems to offer not just an intriguing mystery but also an educational journey into Nigerian history and international relations. The review has definitely piqued my interest in discovering how Mr. Spradlin navigates these obstacles to uncover the truth about Mr. Nachman's disappearance. Kudos to the reviewer for such an insightful analysis!

The book provides a gripping narrative based on real events, following Mr. Spradlin's daring search for Mr. Frederick Nachman in 1976 Lagos amidst political unrest and anti-Jewish sentiments. The author's rich, humorous writing style and detailed descriptions make this historical nonfiction both engaging and educational.

"Quest: Finding Freddie is a historical nonfiction about finding Mr. Frederick David Nachman, who disappeared on August 14, 1976, in Lagos, Nigeria, and who was in the country to seal a business deal between his company and the Nigerian government. I wonder what did happen to him. It is sad that neither the Swedish nor US embassy would help Mr. Spradlin in his quest to find him. Congrats on BOTD!

Mr. Nachman's stay in Lagos sounds intriguing. What happened to Mr. Nachman when he disappeared? Did the wife succeed in finding him? I like that the author injected humor into the story and has a ride ch and fluent writing style.

Hi @Rezaul Hasan, I just read your comments on the official review of "Quest: Finding Freddie" and you commented on a totally different book. This is not a book for children, and it takes place in Nigeria during the 1970s when there was a military coup that disrupted the country and there were many executions afterwards when the people involved in the coup were identified and tracked down. Member comments are supposed to show that you read the sample and official review. @Mrlefty0706
