I found my self shading tears when I was reading this review .Everything about Patricia and her son David is so touching that it is likely a reader would shade tears when reading the book. It is obvious that the author did all her best to portray the feelings that goes with having a family member who struggles with drug addiction and the life of a person who is addicted with drugs. I felt sorry for families with members facing drug addiction, and I felt sorry for individuals who are going through drug addiction. I hope this book will be of help to individuals who face drug addiction issues wether their families members or themselves as individuals.Thank you for a great touching review.

I think this will be a very emotional and also inspirational book to the immediate family of those suffering from addiction. I love the addition of her son's journal entries and short stories to make the book even more personal. Great job on what I suspect is going to be a rollercoaster of a book to read.

This is still a nice book even though I do not like sexual or violent scenes (which are present in it). I think the author has helped in passing some useful information about substance abuse.

Struggling with addicted siblings is not easy, they might do anything to get their substance even if it's stealing from their own parents. Patricia is a very strong parent persevering and trying to help David. Best review ever. I rate it 4 out of 4👌

The real-life experiences of individuals can serve as a lesson to other people. Glad the author did well with it. Well done and congratulations on the book of the day.

Interesting viewpoint it seems. I can't imagine how painful it was for the author to read through some of his works after his passing. Great review.

This is an eye-opening story showing the foundation on which many drug addictions were built on. With this story, we can be more empathetic than judgemental to drug addicts.

it is a great book about the drug addiction being introduced to the teenagers. the book tells us about how david and his family struggled from this addiction. but the lesson should be that wtever it is the medicine or whatever it should b in controlled way otherwise it is going to spoil lives.

There are many parents out there who have faced predicaments similar to what Patricia went through over the addiction of her son. Her experiences are testimony to the fact that parental effort aimed at determining what their children should turn out to be is both limited and uncertain.

I’m so sorry that the author and her family have had to go through this and lose a loved one, but at least by sharing her son’s story, the author gets to help others and educate those who don’t know what it’s like to have a loved one become an addict. I’m not sure if I’ll have thick enough skin to read it, but I’ll keep it on my list just in case. Thank you for the helpful review.

It is unfortunate that the hospital workers who were just trying to lessen the pain by administering morphine ended up creating an addict. I sympathize with Patricia and her family for what they went through. This review made me feel sad, and I believe this book will linger in the minds of its readers long after they're done reading it.
