This sounds like an incredible read. How good it is to read and find out what life is all about for a person who lives in such a place. The review is well-written. Thanks for it. Considering to read this book.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. I definitely form part of the group that appreciates the creature comforts of city life. I can’t imagine having to deal with flooding as just another usual occurrence during summer months or being chased by killer bees, because I decided to mow my lawn today!

While this book is not something I'm eager to read, it does sound like a fun-to-read book about the author's life and adventures. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the detailed review.

I occasionally enjoy reading autobiographies, but I'm not really interested in reading about the swamp. The author's experiences with marriage and the hurricane sounds interesting though.

I think I could excuse the word "lol" as well since it goes well with the writing style. Not a fan of non-fiction books but the author seemed to have done a great job in making this interesting. Thanks for the review!

I'm not a fan of when writers use "lol" in a nonfiction book, but it's not a deal-breaker for me. I'm intrigued by the idea of living in a swamp--although I personally wouldn't do so--and it would be worth reading to get a glimpse into a living style so different from my own. I live in a rural area (I more call it "subrural" since it's a weird area at an intersection of a small city and rural farm life), but that is nowhere near the same as living in a swamp. It'll be interesting to learn about. Thank you for the helpful review.

This book isn’t something that I would normally read but this review makes it sound good that I might give it a try.

A very unique approach. A personal life story with a view that is very uncommon. The structure too supports this approach and that is why this book sounds different than most in my opinion. Great review too.

Thanks for the review. I think this book is my type of book. I like tales that relate to rural activities and life. In this non-fiction book, the author portrays life in the Texas swamp. I recommend this novel to all readers who like to read unique stories of swamp-dwelling.

I will enjoy reading this book about the author’s experience with his life when growing up. Personally, I enjoy the marine ecosystem and the hobbies he mentions like fishing would really be something to enjoy reading on. Thanks for an enjoyable review.

It's great that the author tells his life story in a manner that is very accessible and free of technical jargons surrounding the unfamiliar swamp terrains to other regular people. That the book contains humour and adventures is also a plus. Thanks for the review.

With a fresh perspective, the author documents his life as a resident of a swamp. Readers, however, will wonder why an individual would choose to lead a lonely life without the luxury of modern conveniences.

Although i don’t usually pick up non fiction books, Tale from the riverside caught my interest becuase of the format of it being written in short stories, which i personally really enjoy reading. I am fascinated to read more about the swamp of the author and i particulat enjoy the setting of Texas. At last, as some people may find the word “lol” irritating or as the review mentioned “its makes it look cheaper quality”. I personally think it adds to the novel. This was a very helpful review and quite convincing.
