It's really saddening and unnatural that the very persons (parents) who should be concerned with your well-being are the ones directly causing you harm. I sincerely hope Rachel finds her true healing. A helpful book for those in need of self-esteem boost, thanks for the review.

I can feel how she was in her childhood memories. The feeling of not being able to talk to someone about anything and how her mom was treating her. Rachel Kling deserves much more than anything. I just pray she would one day find the confidence and courage to stand up and fight for herself.

Thanks for the informative review. I love how the author opens up about her childhood abuse and wants to help the suffering audience out there through this amazing novel.

This already sounds like an interesting piece. I really want to know what Racheal learnt from the professor, so I will be reading this book soon. Thanks for the great review.

Self-esteem is something we all need if we are to cope well with the circumstances life throws at us. I am glad the author was able to make the reader feel every pain and humiliation she endured. I am adding the book to my shelf.

Sounds helpful and motivational. I'm not into this kind of books but I'm sure many readers will appreciate it and will benefit from it.

It's always good when you hear the stories of some people spectacularly changing their lives. Rachel comes across as a confident woman from your review, even when she wasn't in her early days of life. Thank you for a fantastic job on this review.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. The themes of child abuse and suicidal tendencies is what deters me from adding this book to my reading list currently.

This is an inspiring and awesome story to boost one's confidence. The story of Rachel Kling is one to caution the community and family on the need to stop verbal and physical abuses. I will love to read this book. Nice review.

I'm not able to wrap my head around a mother abusing her own daughter. Rachel's experiences sound heartbreaking. Thankfully, she's telling the story from a place of triumph so that's a good thing.

How exactly is someone made fun of by her classmates at a physical therapist program? Isn't the ultimate point of physical therapy to make people look and FEEL good about themselves? It goes to show how cruel people can be, even in circles where you expect them to know better. I'm glad that Rachel Kling met Leslie Russek.
