This memoir gives unexpected perspective about rich and popular families in society. I come from a third world country and poor family thinking that someone so rich, famous and popular could go through this kind if suffering is unthinkable. It has completely changed the way I see people regardless of social backgrounds. Nobody is immune from any of life's challenges.

Talking about mental illness is considered a taboo. Thus, it would have taken enormous courage on the part of the writer to publicly put in black and white her experience with depression. Judging by your review, she has eloquently penned down her memoir which is relatable to readers. However, I will give this novel a miss since I am an escapist and tend to gravitate towards books that illustrate a little bit more sunshine.
Thanks for the review!

Thanks for this enlightening review. Since the sample was easy to read, it follows that the rest of the book would be too, so I agree with you. It's good to know that everyone can benefit from this book. It's very nice that the author is willing to share her story.

The author depicts her life in this memoir. Being born into a celebrity family also has some drawbacks. Always to keep yourself up with the family standards, sometimes becomes difficult. In spite of her depression, she achieved what she wanted in her life. Great woman. I congratulate on the lovely plot and the review.

Thanks for the great review. Depression is one of the diseases most of the people struggle with in silence rarely do people come out to talk about it, thanks to the author for sharing her story. The book seems to be informative in terms of depression; I will definitely read the book.

I believe the story illustrates the challenges of being frustrated with depression due to her ,loosing a relationship with her ex. It paves the way to show what every human goes through as a result of uncontrollable emotional situations that affect our daily loves.
Irrespective, of the fact that she hails from a wealthy family that lived big, it took her a long time to find peace and through love once again.
I want to say that this piece of work has not only exposed what the author Jeannette Watson was going through but to identify that no matter where you're from or your philosophy of life, we can't escape from such state of minds that plague us.

This is a very sombre book. It is a captivating read although it is a little bit too detailed. The use of pictures however compensates by adding emphasis on the story line.

The social implications of social impact on children via their governess and parents is brought to the fore, especially with the mum sometimes countermanding the governess' instructions. The fact that the governess totally influenced their vocabulary is an indication of how powerful influence is on those growing up, if it is exerted over a long period of time.

I recommend this book.

The candidness of the author in relating her childhood is commendable, in that she does not use only a positive aspect of her life. indeed, she actually majors on all aspects of life, including her initial upbringing via a governess and its struggles.

An eloquently written memoir dealing with depression sounds particularly powerful. It is a terribly debilitating condition that affects so many. Thanks for your review.
