Excellent review! I never cared much for short stories, but your review piqued my interest and I definitely plan to read this collection.

I like the idea of using 9/11 as a turning point to appreciate some moments of life. I've had teachers that helped me to grow up and I find that author's experience on teaching a reminder of my youth. Congratulations being #BOTD

I could always use a reminder to appreciate the little things in life. This is a nice unlifting choice for BOTD that we can all use from time to time. I also like the brevity of the book. I'm sure it works well in this format. I will be reading this book most definately.

Because the book "sample" on Amazon once again did not go past the table of contents, I was curious to read our review. Thank you for being objective and comprehensive. Sounds like a good gift book.

The book of the day, "Something Happened Today" by Paul E. Kotz
by Caribqueen16

The author, Paul Kotz realised that living in the present and thinking positively can keep you grounded. Beauty can be found amidst horrors and hardships. Accept who you are, believe in yourself and learn from your mistakes. Always look for the bigger you.

cpru68 wrote: 15 Mar 2019, 08:09 This book reminds me of other titles that I have read through the online book club. It sounds like his aim is to get his readers to be aware of the present moment and take in the simple things in life. Great idea about giving this away as a gift! Thanks for this insightful review. The sample pages gave nothing as far as what even one story was like. So thank you for sharing this information.
I have to agree with you when it comes to being aware of the present moments. I think present moments are very special and important, like sitting, eating and talking together as a family on a daily basis, greeting each other and treating each other with kindness, smiling and serving each other is more important.

A book about finding happiness from simple things in life. What's cool about true stories is the learning to be had from these; how these stories relate to the readers in various levels. Congrats!

Great book, great review. The caption alone has already made me curious wanting to know what actually happened that the author was willing to tell me.
I agree with the book on the areas one should focus on to experience ultimate happiness: home, self, financial life, social life, workplace, and community. Thanks for the review.
