It is a great book title but it is a pity that a real, difficult life story is the origin of the story.

It is indeed true that sometimes life can be unfair, but for Lewis Kempfer, it was excruciatingly unfair. I'm looking forward to reading more of his experiences. Thanks for the excellent review.

This book strikes me as an emotional read. I recently developed a liking for memoirs. I just might give this book a shot. Kudos to the author for brutal honesty and Congrats on BOTD!

"Don't Mind Me, I'm Just Having a Bad Life" by Lewis Kempfer - Lewis Kempfer has written his memories of his life from a very young age. He provides harrowing tales of seeking acceptance in raw detail, more than some people would want to read about. He infuses humor to detract from the visual scene he is creating. A good writing style makes it hard not to keep reading to the end. The review was masterful. Thanks.

His experience is way too bad and very pathetic. That's bravery on his path to share his life's experience. Great review.

Kemfer's life seems full of trouble and misfortunes. Drug addictions, abusive psychiatrist, etc. I hope he recovered from all these and found peace and happiness at the end. Nice review.
Insofar as the word 'should' even has meaning, then we must say that the past is exactly as it should be, everything that happened should have happened, and everything that should happen will happen

"I loved the humor that Kempfer used to distract the reader from the gross nature of most of the scenes."

I suppose the only way to make this book readable has to be to include humour. Otherwise, it comes across as really dark

Life can be very unfair at one point in time, we experience life's lessons in form of challenges. It becomes even worse when the challenge you face as a kid is from your parents’ cruelty. This book talks about the author’s ordeal with his father. I love the author’s courage.

I read the sample provided by Amazon, and love the author's writing style. It feels like he's having a conversation with you. It is commendable that he has shared the tormenting events of his life in an effort to help others.

My greatest accomplishment is that I raised two daughters that love to read.

I can't stop asking myself why parents do all these things to their children. How can anyone forget that we are human first before anything else? I have heard of youngsters who committed suicide because they felt like they were a burden to their parents. The author must have been brave and strong. Thanks for the review.

I must say that after reading the first few chapters in this book that I am hooked. Memoirs tend to be very engaging as they are often times, if not all the time, written in the first person. The author really reveals who he is to the reader. His early childhood experiences and interactions with other children as well as adults probably contributed to the adult he becomes later on in life.

It was so sad to see the type of relationship he had with his father. It opens up one's eyes to the very different types of homes that persons come from. I am truly grateful to have been given access to this story. :techie-studyingbrown:
