Biographies like these are usually compelling stories. I like how you adored his relationship with his father and how important this was to Moon's life. You mentioned no errors, but my Kindle version has a number of formatting issues which makes it difficult to read. Christian non-fiction isn't my genre, so I won't read any more of the book, but I understand it will appeal to many others.

This is a story of war and redemption, of hunger and destruction, the kindness of an Army Chaplain during the Korean War. It is the story of an orphan scratching for food on garbage heaps, to becoming a renowned professor at Concordia University in southern California. I absolutely love this one.

I am not a Christian but I would like to read the book because the review made me feel that the book is inspiring. To come out of a life filled with war and destitute and shine is a big achievement.

What did I like about this book, you may ask? I liked the relationship Moon had with his father. They had a bond that transcended borders.
- Literally too, because he had to smuggle Moon from North to South Korea. It's an amazing review, thank you.

I anticipate reading this book. To know the trials and tribulations of Moon's journey and his devotion to his higher power which became his calling after going through the harsh life of a war torn country is an inspiration. This book will be added to my read shelf

He really went through a lot in life but his life changed for the better. Thanks for reading the review Prisallen!
The pastor's life and those of many more missionaries have always been void of comedy just like Moon. The review is simple and direct for any reader. I appreciate it

Moon's story sound uplifting and definitely something that I would like. I'm very intrigued to read what about Vadja's believes led Moon to change to Christianity. I think everyone can learn from this book. Thanks for a great and insightful review.

Keriz Rosado seems to have done well capturing Shang Ik Moon’s journey from North Korea to America in this intriguing biography in the the missionaries to America series. Being in Christian ministry I am interested to read all about Moon's ducking bullets of life and his choice of Christianity and then go on to become a missionary. You have written the review so well.
Congratulations on the BOTD!

I am genuinely moved by your insightful and thoughtful review of "The Bulletproof Missionary." Your eloquent portrayal of Shang Ik Moon's arduous journey from North Korea to America, underscored by the profound impact of Chaplain Vajda, truly captures the essence of his transformation. Seeing your recognition of the deep bond between Moon and his father is heartening, a testament to their unwavering connection. Your observation of the chronological storytelling and meticulous editing highlights your attention to detail. Additionally, your consideration of potential readers, mentioning the graphic content and religious focus, showcases a comprehensive perspective. Your sincere analysis and a well-deserved 4 out of 4 stars eloquently convey your genuine appreciation for this poignant narrative.

A moving review that makes one grieve the gruesome past of violence and loss of love ones. Some groups of people create wars to enslave and plunder others. Hopefully religion is not forced as a last recourse nor must it win believers through savage wars openly nor surreptitiously.

Nice review! The Bulletproof Missionary chronicles a lot of changes the character Moon goes through. I thought you did an excellent job of telling the story of everything he went through from 10 to 18 years old. Losing his mother, his father and being left in South Korea during the war had to be challenging and very difficult. It sounds like an interesting read until he becomes a missionary. I just don't enjoy reading about Christianity. Congratulations to the author on BOTD!!
