I was not aware of that before reading this book either. There were a couple of interesting studies that the author mentioned. Thank you for your visit and your comment.

The book references a few studies but doesn’t have many statistics—I’m just a numbers person and enjoyed the ones that were mentioned. :D I hope you’ll reconsider based on my admission.
Thanks for your comment.

That really is an excellent point. While stress and adrenaline used to provoke life-saving actions for survival, anxiety has now become an emotional trait that we try and psychopharmacologically treat out of people. While certain levels of sustained stress can trigger harmful cascades systemwide, some degree of anxious attentiveness is necessary to keep us on our toes and away from becoming addicted zombies. Lovely review!

I was very intrigued by the statement that anxiety my be passed down to later generations. I have never thought about it, but it is logical in an evolutionary sense - if mother experiences something bad, she would want to pass that knowledge to her child so it can be better prepared and has better chances for survival. I am very curious about what kind of process happens in the chromatin and will surely be reading some articles about that, along with this book. Thank you for the review!
