An interesting second volume of autobiography "When Life Doesn't Turn Out The Way We Hoped It Would? Volume 2" by Tom Wick, which tells us about the author's substance abuse and his distrust of everyone around him as a way to escape his emotional turmoil. I am thinking of reading both the volumes in one go.

The author definitely went through a lot. I couldn't begin to imagine life aboard a ship without having camaraderie with other people. It would be enlightening to find out how he was able to deal with his issues. His travels seems to be his only solace.

Readers should also take note of the inclusion of numerous descriptive and nondescriptive sex scenes in the author's story. In this regard, I could not agree with some questionable life choices Tom Wick made, but I could see how he also used this as a coping mechanism and how it was important on his self-development journey, which he mentions will be explored in his next book. However, this means that this book will only be suitable for a mature audience.

Survivors of abuse, such as the author, sometimes don't make the best decision, misguided by a false look for love or to avoid pain. But, I'm sure the author learned from this.
I've been to Acapulco many times, so I can't wait to see what the author has to say about it.

This autobiography, much like the first volume, sounds like it promises to be a very thrilling and rather chilling read. I doubt that When Life Doesn't Turn Out the Way We Hope it Would? Volume 2 is a book for me as I can be sensitive to violence and abuse. So on that basis, I'll pass on this one. Thanks for the great review!

My point, which I expressed for Vol.1, still standing and therefore this is not my cup of tea and prime example why I don't read non-fiction. I won't ever understand why anyone would like to dive into the word of trauma and abuse, knowing all too well that it is a true life story and everything happened to real person and not some added background of fictional character added to spice things along. Sorry, but I skip it.

I remember this being the book of the day recently! The review is great! Although upsetting and a bit dark, this is a real and honest memoir that I think many people may enjoy! Congrats on the BOTD!
