I'm such a great lover of memoirs, and the fact that I get to learn about some Thai stuff motivates me more. Nice review.

This seems to be an interesting memoir story of a person working in peace corps and experiencing life mainly in Thailand. The glossary and other explanations given in the beginning of the book sample will be very much useful when we go through the whole book. The review is well made. Thanks.

I do not think I will be reading this book since I have been in other similar volunteer programs and associate them with some negative things in my life. However, this sounds like an interesting read, so i hope the right people find the book!!

Even after reading the review, I still have no idea what this book is about. Description only confused me further and maybe my English level is at fault, but as it is I will have to pass it, since I simply don't understand the content. Still congratulations on BOTD are in order!

I have to pass on this book, as I do not know if this is a memoir of the author's experience in the Peace Corps, or about the challenges he faced while falling in love with a Tai girl.

I knew about the Peace Corps Program's existence but reading the memoir of someone who was part of that program with his experience in Thailand is a totally different level of information that makes this book really interesting. Thank you for your great review!

Would love to read the rest of the book one day. The challenges he was faced with, the different cultures, governments and language barriers. Can't, was never in this man's vocabulary. The bonus love story as well ties everything together in a well rounded, many feels read.

I agree with you that this memoir is very insightful as far as the Peace Corps mission was concerned. Thanks for the review.

I had always been interested in The Peace Corps when I was a teenager but only learned a little about it. I'm sure I would enjoy reading this memoir. Good review!

This memoir, which is cultural, touches on sensitive themes such as corruption, social and language challenges. The author tells about his life experience while in Thailand. A great book to read.

I never had a fill ideoa on what the Peace Corps program is about. I think books like this are very helpful for insight on such, and that added with some entertaining romance makes it very worthwhile.
