The ashram is indeed inviting. The camaraderie is second to none. The second-person point of view is unique, and the fact that the account is not long makes it interesting. Oh, for such a retreat from this chaotic world. Thanks for your enlightening review.

I myself thought it was a religious book based on the cover. I've never experienced these things the book describes so it would be interesting to learn more. Thanks for the thorough review.

Thank you for your review. I read the sample. The author described the surroundings in this ashram in words that make you see it in a humorous way, like the trees were hiding the peaceful place, like the birds were chirping like ringing phones, and like the crows were making noises like a busy street. A delightful read!

Self-help books are not my cup of tea but I do agree that when you want to let go of resentments, redirect negative thoughts and get away from your hectic routine that would be a perfect getaway. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I am not so sure about a retreat in an ashram, but the concepts of communal life and service sound very interesting. I am glad that the author does the descriptions so vividly that the reader is able to imagine the ashram.
Thank you for the informative review, @Saint Bruno.

Tom Hillman’s vivid storytelling makes the ashram experience feel so real that it’s hard not to crave a retreat of your own. The mix of humor, introspection, and rich descriptions brings the place to life, making it both thought-provoking and enjoyable.
