I know the author, and consequently the book is finance-related but I still find the title of the book too technical...way more technical than the content of the book itself (which from the review is very readable). Just putting this out to either get to the author's notice or sensitize any persons that might have been discouraged by just the mere title.
Congrats on BOTD.

Franco Guazzoni’s story is a mix of wisdom, resilience, and real-life lessons. I admire how open he is about both his wins and struggles—it makes everything feel honest and relatable.

Thank you for this thoughtful and well-written review. I really appreciate how you highlighted both the professional accomplishments and the personal depth of Franco Guazzoni’s memoir. The fact that he openly shares his regrets and failures, not just his successes, makes his story feel more authentic and relatable. I found the part about his emphasis on staying teachable and continuing to learn particularly inspiring—it’s a great reminder that growth doesn’t stop, no matter how experienced or accomplished someone becomes. It was also fascinating to read that he maintained such detailed recollections of people and places across the globe, though I can see how that might slow down the reading pace. I think it’s admirable how he stayed grounded in compassion and conscience, even when life threw difficult challenges his way. That quote about secular morality really stood out to me. Thanks again for the insightful review—it’s convinced me to take a closer look at this book!

Great review! Frankly, the sample of the book bored me to tears, so I don't think that this book is for me. I am sure that others would like it who are in the consulting business.

Definitely not my cup of tea, because I tried the career of a management consultant as a side job during my university years and, unfortunately, wasn't all that successful. The experience made me realize this profession requires natural talent, and it seems Franco was born for it. Congratulations with BOTD!

I would like to read about Franco Guazzoni's life, as this book shares 75 years of his experiences as a management consultant, and I'm curious about how he handles every situation.

What appeals to me the most about this book is that Guazzoni is writing from a point of experience, hence the insights he shares in this book are practical. I also like that he's emphasized on one's need to be teachable and ready to learn.

The review captures the depth and purpose of the book, highlighting its honesty, knowledge, and life story. It is especially effective for readers interested in career paths, leadership, and business ethics. Still, a better balance between admiration and objective criticism would make the review more solid and useful to a wider audience.

Indeed everyone have their own story and should be able to tell it themselves. This book captures the life's journey of the author, all the author went through, the successes and failures. It's for me an instrument for inspiration and motivation.

Thank you for your review. I read the sample. The author mentions many acquaintances and lifelong friends he made in his business life. I enjoyed his story about flipping a coin with a client for his fee, and he won. A good book for young people wanting to be entrepreneurs.

This book offers valuable insights about personal experience as a professional management consultant. Readers could learn some lessons from this book. I'm not really interested in this topic nor a fan of memoirs and autobiography. Nice review!

I'm always a little amazed at autobiographies simply because the level of recall needed to write one is outstanding. I applaud the writer for being able to be detailed about over 75 years of his history. This review has piqued my interest, which is funny because the words 'management consultant' seemed to promise a boring read.
