This is such a unique concept for a story! I liked your comment about the author possibly adding a note about the political/historical events of the time of each story. I think that would be helpful!

I've just read your review and sampled the book. I enjoyed both. The author uses vivid descriptions that made me feel like I was actually there with her. I find interactions between people fascinating and think this book will be very interesting to read. Thanks so much for the review.

Thanks for the review. I agree with you that some books just add fluff and in my opinion it takes away from the actual draw of the book. I am glad that you were able to enjoy it even though you didn't know much about the historical timeline, I am not good with history either so it is nice to know that is shouldn't distract me too much.

Love the title and your review helped me say YES to this book. I do appreciate your wish for what was going on politically, but her adventures will most likely enthrall me.

Nice review. One of my favorites is story on life. Journey of people untold and stories of unsung heroes. I recommend this book.

Thank you for the great review. Granny's Stories are fit to be read by women of all ages and maybe for men, too. She has interesting experiences meeting and living with renowned historical figures and exotic places in her life. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.

This sounds like a different kind of autobiography. This woman sounds fascinating.

A great review..espcially when you wrote that the story's narration feels like your grand mother is telling you these stories.

Thanks for the great review! It is always interesting to listen to and glean from those who have gone before us. I like that she wanted her granddaughters to know that she had a life before she became a parent and grandparent. Good for her! I also like that she met some interesting people and traveled to some interesting places.

Great review and congrats on BOTD!
