I prefer straightforward storytelling, but I look forward to seeing the philosophical and spiritual themes in the book. The fact that something shocking happens and seems to be counter to the environment of peace and love that was being sought makes this sound like a thrilling read.
Many thanks for the amazing review, @Slayton Natasha Tillett.

After reading The Divine Love Memoir by Sankarshan Das, I felt really inspired by his journey from being a musician in the 1960s to becoming a spiritual leader. He shares his story in a simple and honest way, making it easy to understand. The way he describes the people and places from that time makes you feel like you’re there. This book shows how faith and determination can change a person’s life. I think anyone who is interested in personal growth and spirituality would enjoy it.

Thanks for this review. I've only read a sample of the book so far, but I'm intrigued to see where it goes. With my BA in Religious Studies, I'm sure the protagonist's journey will bring a human element to the sometimes-dry study of religions.

I noticed that the review doesn’t specify whether the protagonist is male or female. Was this intentional? I’m curious, does the story unfold from a female or male perspective?

Exciting journey! A world gone by, and yet we can still have people like Sankarshan Das who are willing to share about their lives and tell us how they themselves have changed over the years. Not just physically but mentally as well. From a chaotic world to finding peace and wanting to share their experience with everyone who will listen.

This book masterfully captures the vibrant and turbulent spirit of the 1960s counterculture, following a young idealist's journey for love, peace, and enlightenment. The vivid descriptions of the Haight-Ashbury district and major events like the Altamont Free Concert immerse readers in the era, while the protagonist’s spiritual quest adds depth and introspection to the narrative. Nice review.
