Grief is the price we pay for love
this one line stopped me in my tracks i read it once and it echoed in my mind for days it is simple yes but it holds so much weight before i used to think grief was something we needed to move past quickly to be strong to get over it but this quote made me pause and truly reflect it changed the way i looked at pain i realized that grief does not exist without love it is not weakness it is not something to be embarrassed about it is a reflection of how deeply we cared the stronger the bond the harder the loss hits us and that is okay that is human for me this quote helped make space for my emotions i stopped fighting the sadness and started understanding it every tear every heavy moment is tied to memories that mattered that is a powerful thing it means we lived we felt and we loved it also reminded me that grief is not about forgetting someone or moving on it is about carrying them differently over time the sharp pain may soften but that love that connection staysthis quote does not erase the pain but it offers a quiet kind of comfort it tells us that love and grief walk hand in hand and if we are grieving it means we had something truly specialand i think that is something beautiful to hold on to.

This sounds like a heartfelt and family focused tale. This kind of books often give us insights and perspectives about life. It seems like a great book. But as of now, this is not my kind of read. Nonetheless, it's a wonderful tale and it'll find its audience.

I am glad that beyond the vicissitudes that characterizes our experiences and life on earth, including the devastating consequences on family, the author still passes a message that strength and resilience can still enable one to survive through them all. I can only image how hard it must have been for Donnie to go through all the chaos and confusion that accompany such destabilizing moments. The review is amazing; thank you, @Obc Contentor.

Definitely not my cup of tea, because first the title, and after reading the reviews, the story as well sounds way too depressing. Yes, Donnie's life was harsh, but whose isn't? How many kids are facing similar issues with parents losing work courtesy of the economic crisis following one another nowadays?! Sorry, I prefer to skip this book.

I wish Donnie's parents would put in more effort to keep the family together. Children do not need to stay in a broken home. This book Grief is the Price We Pay for Love" by Aimee Goodwin-Cole, has a relatable plot, and I appreciate it. Congratulations on the book of the day.

Donnie's story is impactful and thought-provoking. I enjoyed the book sample. It is engaging with simple language. I appreciate the content warning. I usually avoid topics like domestic abuse and self-harm. This book seems too heavy for me. Thank you for a wonderful review.

A tragedy not only affects the father but completely breaks up the family what was once a loving home becomes a place of fear Donnie being just a child has to grow up fast and face things that no child should have to live through.🍀🍄

This heartfelt review captures the emotional depth of Donnie’s story with grace and clarity. It highlights the novel's strength in portraying family bonds, personal loss, and resilience. The warning about violent scenes is thoughtful. A compelling recommendation for those drawn to raw, reflective narratives grounded in real-life experiences.

It is quite painful to mourn the loss of a person who is still alive, which it seems Donnie faces despite her father being alive. His change killed the loving father, replacing himself with a darker element. Good Review
