In my opinion, review plays a major role in providing justice to the author's work and an appropriate audience to the book. As a literature student myself, I think it wouldn't harm me to read this one. Infact, I think I need this for myself, it is always important to explore various literary regions along with other important areas as well. Thank you for the insightful review, going to read this soon!

looks like you enjoyed the book and it was enjoyable however don’t think I could get into it, it may be one of those books where you either love or hate it. Good review

These are certainly some interesting topics to explore. I really like that the author has used “information technology” in a much broader sense than we typically expect these days. You’re right that this is a very esoteric text, but the author has some interesting points to address.

Wow! I like that the author had done an extensive research to provide data for her theories. I believe in theories that have proof. The issue of 'orality' and 'literacy' has been an ongoing debate. Thanks for the review.

This will definitely be a fantastic book someone must read, like finally a book that portrays the impact IT revolution would have on our lives particularly West Africa where I am from. Good review.

Thank you for your review. As the world of technology itself is a constant revolving door of "new information", it's kind of scary to think where we can end up. Not sure I could stay focused while reading this, but I am glad you found it interesting.

I do not think this novel would be interesting for me to read and review. From the summary that the reviewer presented, I do thank the reviewer, but I have a little interest in the novel.

I have not found any interesting topic in this book other than IT which is not elaborated in the review. I found that the topics about the cultural effects of literacy and orality academically boring. I don't find the cover and the title relevant. I'm glad you enjoyed reading this book.

Good summary of a book dealing with complex subject matter. I find myself to be fairly lazy these days and unsure as to whether I would want to devote the time necessary to digest the concepts, but it deals with fascinating and timely developments in both our historic and modern world. The subtle shift in thinking from being at the mercy of technological developments in communication to viewing these developments as a social process brought about by human actions is intriguing. Your review makes me wonder if I should give this book further consideration. Thank you!

I'm sorry, but these lessons in "literacy" and "orality", and their effects on organizations just hold zero interest for me, and I'm sure that the book would be way too dry for me to wade through. I am glad, however, that it lined up with your particular interests and that you enjoyed it.

Any time new technologies come along, people always worry about the ramifications. Some of that worry is based on ignorance. That's why it's good to have an author who can explain things in layman's terms, which this author obviously does, as your review makes clear. Great review.

Talking about the impact of IT on modes of thinking is definitely relevant in today’s times. The fact that the author seems to have researched and provided data to support her theories adds more value to the book.

Great review. It's important that authors can explain complex subjects in simple terms, which you make clear is something this author does very well.
