Unexpected Lessons From Professor Higgins by Patti Smith is a non-fiction book that reveals transformative lessons gleaned from forty-plus years of caring for her son, Christopher. She shares the way she changed with vulnerability and light-heartedness while giving credit to her clever son who was diagnosed as a baby. It is a great read for inspiration.

Society tends to judge those with Down's Syndrome, which is sad; these people are just the same as everyone else and have so much love to give to the world. Patti's stories about Chris are inspirational and educational. Thanks for the great review!

The touching tale of raising her son Chris, who was born with Down syndrome, is told in "Unexpected Lessons from Professor Higgins" by Patti Smith. She learns important lessons about acceptance, love, and questioning social norms along the way. This narrative is a heartwarming celebration of resilience and personal growth because of Chris's unusual outlook on life, which inspires, cares for, and delights his family.

"Unexpected Lessons from Professor Higgins" is a book about patience, love, growth and the path to living a happier life. I don't think I've ever met someone with down syndrome before so I can't exactly say I'm well educated on it. This is the perfect opportunity to change that. I'll definitely be reading this book. Congratulations on BOTD.

'The book explores how a mother can learn from her child and how what is expected by society to be a defining factor in their lives turns out to be an influential path towards a happier life and a family that lives in harmony and love.'
This is deeply interesting.

Expectations are funny things. Sometimes they are set low due to what people are told and then they xan really be exceeded seemingly without trying. Just ask Chris and his mom!
