I am a huge fan of memoirs and look forward to reading this book. I like the quote that you included from one of the author's friends about not knowing what to say. I have been in that situation, and knowing how to answer those questions will help if there is a next time.

Thanks for the well-written and detailed review. I have learned much from reading the review and I would like to read the book as well. It is a good thing that the author decided to share her story and also become an advocate.

Excellent review, depicting how the rape victim and her family overcame their pain. through love and support of each other. It also illustrates how to rise above challenges and choose to make a positive impact.

The best part of this traumatic story is the response of the survivor after this traumatic experience, as the survivor responds by becoming an advocate to help others and protect the innocents from these crimes.

I think it can be very difficult to share personal stories, especially pertaining to rape. It can also be painful to read these stories because they bring up a lot of memories of other times a reader may have experienced something similar. It took a lot of courage for the author to write this memoir and hopefully this can spread awareness. Thank you for the review.

I’m glad that she was able to move on and use her experience as a way to help other women. Definitely sounds like a book anyone would benefit from reading.

I also just reviewed a book written by a lady who was raped. Rape for me is the most heinous crime; what can justify it? I sympathize with the women and men who have endured it and pray they all emerge whole again.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this📚🤓More than being a heartbreaking story, I say this forms as an inspiration to victims of this heinous crime, showing how our author, with the help of her beloved family and friends, faced recovery head on and now is an advocate, wishing to help other rape victims. I congratulate the author not only for the #BOTD but more so, for rising above her situation and going beyond extending help to others as well. God bless you more🙏

I am so sorry for what the author has gone through, and admire them for being strong enough to share their experiences, as that will surely help many. The idea of including the perspectives of others is very interesting too. Thanks for your review.

Thank you for your review of the book, Voices of Hope by Kristine Irwin. I agree with everyone, that including conversations from family and friends was a wonderful addition to the book. There can never be enough books written about this subject. Each one offers hope to the victims and their loved ones and shines the light on an issue in our society that needs attention. I'm glad she had a happy ending and that she is doing something positive like the Coaster Consent Campaign (free coasters for bars with slogans such as "If you want to be my lover, you gotta get my consent.

Very detailed review. Reading this book can be inspiring for a rape survivor and their loved ones. Reading about the author, who has been in their shoes can help them immensely. Thanks to the author for writing this.

Thank you for your very honest review. I agree that you seldom hear about how the rape affects friends and family of the victim, and I am glad that the author thought to include this aspect.
