Even though I am not an addict or a depressed person, I would still like to read this book. Reading your review, wants me to read the book even more, just for its life lessons. I have had my share of facing depressed and addicted people and being a medical professional, I meet such people on a daily basis. I will surely recommend this book to them. 'I was moved to tears praying to God to give me the wisdom and ability to raise my children in a loving manner that I may never crash their souls in the name of fitting in the society.' It just touched my heart.

The book sounds like a touching memoir. I like it that he didn't shy about narrating some of the darkest things that he did. I'm a fan of memoirs, and I'll definitely read this one. Congrats on the BOTD!

I find some memoirs hard to read because of the emotion overload it usually projects. And I think this is one of those. But memoirs are a good source of inspiration and encouragement. So there's still a chance I'll read this in time. Great review though. Thank you. Keep it up!

This book seems like an emotional journey which is going to be tough for me to sit and read. Mistreatments that children receive from their parents, who are supposed to be caring is very unsettling for me. But the author did a great job in opening up about his life. Thanks for the review!!

This book seems to be a very deep and emotional book. I love a good true story. Although I am not a religious person, I believe it could still be an interesting read based off the hardships the author went through to get where he is now.

This seems like a book with lots of emotions in it; it's not for the faint hearted! I think it'll be interesting thought, I'm particularly curious about the turnaround in Kempfer's old age.

The only thing more infuriating than negligent parents are negligent parents who hide under the guise of religion! And a sad tale laced with humour tells that the wound is deeper than the tale let's on. This book sounds like a really emotional but beautiful story.
I enjoyed reading your review. Nice job.

Lewis Kempfer's story is both extremely painful and courageous. I love the fact that the role parents play is addressed in order to enlighten them on how they sometimes damage their children. This book should be a source of courage and strength especially for people who have gone through traumatic experiences.
