Lou's story is such a heartwarming story because he had a family by his side through it all. It's really amazing the results we can get when we have those who truly love us by our side. Thank you for a detailed review.

This is an inspiring story of two parents' love (Mark and Mary Ellen Unger) for their child (Louis) and their fight for his life despite a "zero chance of survival" diagnosis. This family's journey is hope-inspiring and one to learn from. Congrats on BOTD!

First Survivor: The Impossible Childhood Cancer Breakthrough by Mark Unger is a heartwarming tale of a young boy who is diagnosed with cancer. Coping with tests, scans, and medication is difficult for both the family and the child, especially at such an early age. The author has put in a lot of effort and patience to gather photos of Louis's progress so that readers can connect with his story on a deeper level. The book chronicles Louis's journey from a fatal cancer diagnosis to becoming a cancer survivor. It is worth mentioning that all the proceeds from the book will be going to charity, which is truly admirable. Congrats on BOTD!!

Mark and Mary's story is definitely inspirational and I love how they went out of their way and put in every effort to ensure their son received the best care. The fact that Mark had a journal to record all the observations he made as the treatment proceeded shows how attentive to detail he is, and this, undoubtedly, must have been one of the factors that eventually led to the successful treatment. The fact that they have a program to advocate for issues pertaining to childhood cancer is amazing too. Many thanks for the review.
