I like the way the author uses his own life experience to pass such an awesome information .It is indeed sad to lose parents in anyway, but for once let's appreciate our grandparents. They are angels sent from heaven.
I love the book and I will add it to my shelf.
The review has been well done.

This book reminds me of the good times I used to have with my grandma. It's a pity Hodgson's case was that of a loss. Mine was quite different. My grandma was so fond of me to the point that I hadly stay with my parents. I can't wait to have this book in my shelf. Great and passionate review.

I remember my mom always telling us she wouldn't want to raise our kids, she would be the grandma who loves and plays and spoils. It must be so hard as grandparents to be forced into a situation where you do have to raise your grandchildren, I hope those grandparents find a book like this based on first-hand experience helpful.

This sounds like a very comprehensive, tightly structured manual to raising grandkids; it should be of great benefit to those who find themselves in that situation. Thanks for the review, LV2R. :techie-studyingbrown:

I never knew books like this exist, maybe because I have the perception that parents should be the ones taking care of their children except they are deceased. I admire Hodgson's strength in the midst of her loss, and I love her quote “The acceptance of pain shortens its duration …”SO TRUE. This is a great review.

My grandma stayed with us for 4 years straight. On some days, we all loved her so much and on others, we misunderstood her. I wish she could read this book, I'm sure she would have been way better at communicating with us.

It's a great book! I learnt a few hacks.

From the review it seems this is the perfect book for grandparents to learn how to raise their kids. This is not for me (I don't have grandchildren obviously) but I can see how helpful this book can be. Thanks for your review.

This is a perfect book every grandparent must have to better understand their grandkids. Life issues such as divorce, breakups or even death can make kids be left alone for training by grandparents. As such, this book will be the ideal guide for such times so that these little ones can grow up to become great in the society. Adding this straight away to my books to read

Great review! This is such an important topic today. It's good as well for grandparents whose homes act as daycares. I think it would be valuable for all grandparents, especially the section on communication.

I can't imagine the grief of knowing that you have to take care of your grandchildren because of your own children's passing. Still, I'm glad that the author was able to overcome it, and even come up with such a well-written book, going so far as to list 10 main points after each chapter. Thanks for the review.
